ICSI Treatment is the Best Option for Male Infertility

ICSI is the short form of intracytoplasmic sperm injection. ICSI is the process of injecting the single sperm into the mature egg. The whole process is totally different from IVF procedure and it can also be considered as the part of IVF.

It is mostly recommended for the infertile male. With the aid of ICSI, male get the chance of conceiving. The hollow and delicate sharp needle is used for retrieving sperm and that is used for insertion also. This needle is specially designed for ICSI process.

With the help of ICSI needle, sperm is fetched and then needle is inserted over the egg shell. Through the egg shell, sperm is injected into the cytoplasm of the egg and then carefully removed from it.
ICSI procedure follows the simple steps and after the completion of all steps, fertilization takes place. Embryo are developed and placed into the uterus of woman through IVF process. Then after some days, specialist conduct the test for concluding that pregnancy occurred or not.

Who can go for ICSI Treatment?

Basically ICSI treatment in India is used for the infertile male. The following things are consider as the factor of infertility and this is treatment is recommended for them.

  • Low count of sperm is released or null
  • Sperm ejaculation problem
  • Sperms motility means sperms are unable to swim or move.
  • Sperms morphology is related to the shape of sperm.
  • ICSI helps those men also who has vasectomy.

For male infertility problem, ICSI is the best treatment. During IVF procedure, if anybody suffers with the above type of sperm related issues, ICSI is used to improve the fertility and increase the chances of achieving pregnancy.

The couple who have experienced failed IVF, ICSI helped to them so much in improving the chances of success rate of pregnancy. So ICSI is considered as the best and reasonable treatment for failed fertilization.

What is Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) Treatment? What is ICSI Procedure?

When we think about infertility then only one treatment option that is In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) come into the people’s mind. But do you know there is another treatment which also has high success rate. Did you hear about ICSI or intracytoplasmic sperm injection? This procedure is also used along with IVF.

ICSI is considered as the high fertilization rate fertility treatment for male infertility. This is the reproductive approach for treating the infertility problem and has been around since 1990s. Some experts recommend this new technology to cope up with infertility and gain fertility.

What is ICSI (Intracytoplasmic sperm injection)?

ICSI is entirely different from IVF where sperms are mixed together with eggs in a petri dish. But in ICSI procedure, single sperm is injected into the eggs. After the injection of a sperm into the mature egg, the chances of getting pregnancy achieved.

ICSI Procedure

Many couples have achieved the pregnancy with the effect of intracytoplasmic sperm injection. According to the research, it is estimated that using ICSI 50 to 80% of eggs are fertilized. During ICSI process, clinic uses reproductive apparatus like micromanipulation, inverted microscopes, some other devices and ICSI needle which is particularly designed for retrieving sperm. With the aid of sharp and hollow needle, individual sperm is retrieved. After this step, needle is delicately inserted through the external shell of egg and then sperm is injected into the cytoplasm of the egg.

Male with Low Fertility Might Signal of Testicular Cancer

Infertility is the issue of not getting pregnant in female and not making his partner pregnant in male. The concept of infertility or impotence is common in society. Even celebrities are also affected with this issue.

Female infertility is caused due to many reproductive issues like fallopian tube cancer, endometriosis, thyroid, premature ovarian which release poor quality of eggs at early age, periods (ovulation) problem, ovarian cyst problem, hormone imbalance, and unexplained infertility.

Unexplained means unidentified infertility in which all tests are made but not get desired result. In test report everything is fine but you are facing with infertility problem. Sometime this case happens in which problem is unknown and doctor recommend you to go for IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) or test tube baby treatment.

Infertility in male is mostly caused by sperm reproduction problem. In some cases, male is also responsible for the cause of no having baby. Sperms play a vital role in making the fertilization process inside the woman. This is the main reproductive system in male which is responsible for making a woman pregnant.

Sperm related problem like low amount of seminal fluid is released or sometime null is produced. Sometime sperms are released but their motility is not good. Sperm motility refers to the flow and movement of sperms that they do not swim. When the movement of sperms is not present then they are not able to mix with eggs and this obstructs in fertilization process. With this cause, you are not able to conceive.

Infertility in male can increase the chances of testicular cancer. It can also increase the risk for melanoma skin cancer, and prostate cancers. Those who are having low concentration of sperms, the risk of testicular cancer are 10 times higher.

To Create Fertility: Should In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) be adopted?

For creating families, In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) turned into wonderful infertility treatment. In the early 1980s this process was used for developing a healthy embryo and transplants it into the woman’s uterus to make her pregnant. Some women were having a problem of eggs production. They cannot release in proper amount and some release but that were not considered as the quality eggs. Then doctors use the hormones to stimulate her ovarian to produce eggs in good quality. Then doctors use the eggs with sperms and in lab they combined them and embryo developed. After this process, there is another step of implantation in which healthy embryo is used to put into the woman’s uterus.

Now a day also this same process is used to conceive. IVF failure cases also happened so much. Failure facts are collected and then this treatment again revised and now this has high success rate which is about 80% in old age woman.

Doctors have made it successful with their efforts and the faith of the people. In today’s time, in new IVF technique, viability of an embryo and woman is evaluated. It is predicted that woman is able to go for this treatment or not. This is very effective powerful treatment so there is need to check and it is a god practice to decrease the chances of IVF failure. Viability of an embryo is also examined through this the IVF process.

During the test when it is concluded that the IVF is safe for woman then she is allowed to go for this treatment. The whole process from stimulation of ovary to embryo formation is same as previous traditional IVF technique. The only difference is that after the development of embryos it is inspected that which embryo is better for implantation. This time test is conducted to analyze the best healthy embryo. This test is usually focused on mitochondria. 4-5 cells of embryos are taken for testing and then the levels of DNA mitochondria are checked. Then the healthy embryos are collected and one embryo is selected for transplantation into the woman’s uterus.

Think about Harmful Effects first Before Go for IVF Centre in India

IVF Centre in India has given assistance to many needy couples in achieving the successful pregnancy. Thousands of patients have accomplished their dream with the help of this technique. As earlier it was unachievable for infertile couple to become a parent. But with the hard work of doctors and scientist, it becomes possible to create fertility all over the world.

Before going IVF treatment you should know about its process, advantages and disadvantages also. I would like add both here advantage and disadvantage.

Benefit of IVF:
  • It helps the patients who do not have ability to become a parent.
  • A woman who has a problem of blocked or damages fallopian tube. These tubes can be improved with the help of this treatment.
  • A woman who is above 40 years, she has less chances of getting pregnant due to the poor quality of eggs and the quantity of eggs are also low in amount. During IVF, FSH hormone is used to stimulate the woman’s ovary to produce eggs. With the assistance of this, woman start producing eggs and then eggs are used for fertilization.
  • Sperm reproduction is also fixed with IVF treatment. Male who has sperm production and transportation problem, he can have less chances of making her partner pregnant.
  • Unexplained Infertility, PCOs, Endometriosis can also removed with the assistance of this reproductive approach IVF.

Disadvantage of IVF:
  • Create fertility with the help of IVF; this can be lead to side effects in future.
  • Multiple pregnancies can be happen when multiple embryos are used for implantation. So it is always advised that use single embryo during transfer.
  • The rate of ectopic pregnancy can be increased.
  • The stimulation hormone can lead to long term health problem in future after the born of a baby.
  • It is expensive in some centres.

Scientist Achieved Success in Transforming Traditional IVF

IVF is the most rewarding prosperous approach that has aided so many couples of India and other western couples also. We have heard the lot of successful stories of couple who had undergo IVF treatment. Why to forget other failed stories? They are also considered as the best stories of IVF failure. With failure we check our things to improve it so that we get success in future. So I think unsuccessful stories are also made impact on the life of many couples as well as doctors also.

Everybody knows that we learn new things from our bad experience that has happened in past. Like this if we will not hear the stories which are failed then how we come to know that why this happened and what was the reason behind this.

When IVF treatment was discovered then at that there was no limitation. Nobody knows that this could result in success stories and failure stories. Drawbacks are recovered from the feedbacks of the patients and scientist started worked out to remove the limitations. As earlier age factor was the major reason for IVF failure.  It was estimated that a woman who is 35 years she would have 50% success rate. 86% success rate was achieved by woman whose age is less than 35 years. Above 35 years, if she goes for IVF treatment then there was 32% success rate. It shows that woman age was responsible for the failure.

But today IVF centre in India has done lot of work in removing all limitations of IVF treatment and made this approach safe for the patients. Lots of improvement has been made to create the fertility during IVF reproductive approach. It was a myth that only younger woman can go for IVF treatment. But today anyone can avail. Age does not matter. In fact chances of getting pregnant in above 35 years of woman are more than the younger age.
